Kyogle Off-Stream Storage - Landslip Remediation & Sludge Lagoon Construction

Green Civil Services engaged for the below scope:

Sludge ponds

• Completion of design
• Contractor to determine if a temp access road is needed to avoid a landslip, if it is, construct the temp access road
• Demolish the two existing sludge ponds and construct a replacement sludge pond, ensuring that the Council can pump water to the main pond during the works
• Removal of all water and sludge from the two existing sludge ponds, transport to the Kyogle Sewerage Treatment Plant, and placement within a bunded location, pre-prepared by the Council. The Council will lawfully dispose of the sludge at a later date
• Construction of one concrete-lined sludge pond and forebay
• Test excess material and lawful disposal
• Road construction
• Perimeter fence construction
• Landscaping

Slips B and C

• Completion of design
• Construction of two temp roads to access the slips by progressively installing screw piles, concrete block walls, concrete, culvert pipes and rock
• Install sheet piles into the river to assist in dewatering the toe of the bank, pump water from the bunded area, and removal of sheet piles when no longer required
• Removal of vegetation and lawful disposal
• Progressively install geogrid, aggregate, rock, and concrete blocks to retain the land surrounding the slips
• Once the slip remediation works are complete, leave the screw piles, concrete block retaining walls, and concrete slabs within the temporary roads, remove the aggregate surfacing, cover with excess fill, topsoil, and grass seed
